Expect Great things
Recently I did a search on "Expect Great Things" and this little snippet came up...

Expect Great Things From God - Chimezie Onyebilanma
"For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:6-7
There are three exciting things I see these verses saying to you;
1. Whether you can see it or not, the gift of God is in you. God has deposited something in you. You have something to give. Whether you feel like it or not, you are called. You have an anointing from God for a task. All you need to do is to fan what the Lord has put into you for this task into flame. God equips him that he calls. Perhaps our problem is that we often let the flame dull. The way to fan into flame the deposits of God in you is through intimacy. Run and hide in him. Spend time with him and whatever he tells you just do it.
2. Timidity is not of God. The lack of confidence and fear of failure. Fear is not of God. The fear that even robs us of the will to go on. Robs us of the confidence to dare to attempt new things. William Carey said, "Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God!" You must cast away fear. You must dare.
3. God has given you power, love, and self-discipline. These are the three things you need so badly to fulfill that call of God on your life. You must appropriate these verses. Power to do mighty things. Love to help you handle people. Self-discipline to help you handle yourself.
