Yay, finally have internet. Don't have much time so here's my list of quick thoughts:
1) What happened to my comments link! It's gone!
2) What happened to my fantasy nba team! They're all injured!
3) I'm enjoying my vacation very much. Tokyo was crazy busy and we tried to hit all the spots. Too much. Nikko and Kyoto is slower paced but we're still trying to squeeze as much in as possible. All in all, it's been good so far. Too much to go into detail since I've seen and experienced so much during a week.
4) I will be on NHK tv channel 1 at 11:15pm on november 24 on a show called "Let's learn English!", or at least that's what they're telling me. The host has a sign that said free english tour at Kiyomisu and I asked them why are they giving out free tours. Then I found out that they're doing a show for NHK and he's the host. The camera rolled and now I wonder what they're gonna do to the clips that they shot. I mean, I've seen "lost in translation" and they always like to make fun of people...hmm...I think my sister will tape it. Yatta!
5) My favorite words so far on the trip: Yatta!=I did it!(said in a very very enthusiastic way), Yada!=No(in a slightly annoyed and teasing way), Ikimasho!=Let's go, or Let's bounce, or Let's roll.
6) Finally I get to eat real oyakodon, okonomiyaki, sushi (straight from the tsukiji fish market no less!), ramen, katsu, soba, and one of my favorites, onigiri, which I bought for 100 yen from Lawson's which is a convenience store. Just tell them to ding it (microwave) for a couple of seconds and viola, taste of heaven. :)
7) I love the Japanese transportation system. They're mostly on time, easy to understand, and cool. Like we took the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) from Tokyo to Kyoto and it was so fast and smooth. Even get to see Mt. Fuji on it. Nice...
