Overwhelming London

Tomorrow I fly out of London and onto Eastern Europe. I've enjoyed the city very much and I think it is as international a city as I've visited. I loved the people walking around Covent Garden, the Tate Modern and the view from the Millenium Bridge, being able to watch a Shakespeare play "As You Like It" in England, meeting some locals and having a great conversation over mussels and beer at Belgo and Punch and Judy, different ethnicities walking around the streets, the taxis and the routemasters, the magnificent tube and the life that goes on there, the very well designed Science museum and their display of the Spitfire, which won the day at the Battle of Britain, the Parliament tour and Westminister Abbey, the design store Magma, the design Museum, Pret a Manger, Fortnum and Mason, getting fish and chips, and the walkthrough of human history that is the British Museum. I'm really liking this place, as honestly, as cliche as it sounds, there's no other city like it and although San Francisco is a city I love, it will never be London. It's like the capital of the world. Ok, fine, excuse me for being cheesy, I'm just trying to take everything in.

Between Copenhagen and London I did spend 3 days in Berlin. A different feel and story all on its own, especially because of the city being split up into 2 during the cold war. Anyway, long story short...we missed our flight! So it was a crazy ordeal the last day there, and the new ticket was the budget buster... There goes my idea of travelling in Europe for cheap.

Anyway, gotta go. I'm still alive and off to Budapest tomorrow.
