The Lake Show 2005
I'm glad the nba season is starting tomorrow. It's been a long wait but it's finally here. As for my beloved Lakers, there couldn't have been a more busy offseason. So the requisite news. No Shaq, no Phil. Fine. Every Lakerhater out there gloating about how Lakers are not gonna make the playoffs. Well, there will always been Lakerhaters around, but true Laker fans year in and year out will have another season of drama to enjoy.
So about the new look Lakers. One thing for certain, I can really enjoy seeing them. Sure, they won't dominate, and they will struggle, but I like the soul of this team. Kobe will have to prove that he can be a leader when everyone else is writing him off. Reading what Lamar Odom and Caron Butler had been though, Odom with his drug problems, and Caron with his jailtime, and having perservered thru that, I'm pulling for both of them to succeed. Rush and George will definitely have to prove that they're worth what we're paying them. Milm has been a pleasant surprise in the preseason. Walton will be back. Rudy T brings more passion to the team. I think it'll be fun to watch these guys fight night in and night out. No longer will the Lakers wait till the playoffs to turn it on, we'll have to play hard every game. But it should be fun. :)
Yeah, I might be a bit too obsessed with the new Laker season, but I'm just glad it's here. First game on TV, Lakers vs. Jazz on Wed, ESPN. Don't miss it!
