It's like 3am and I'm in LA and I can't sleep. Too many things on my mind. I'm also guessing that there's only 4 people who actually still follow my blog now. So thank you, you're 25% of my readership. I value your anonymous snooping into my life, whoever you are out there. And if your name is GW and you're reading this, then you need to stop wasting time and get some well deserved sleep. And stay away from friendster...
Mental Note #1:
Must watch following movies again: About a Boy, High Fidelity, Jerry Maguire, About a Boy (again). No man's an island, that's what they say, no man's an island...
If you've seen these movies then I'd suggest: So I married an Axe Murderer. Great movie. Then you can head over to North Beach and City Lights bookstore, where part of the movie is shot, go to the 2nd floor, and get yourself some jack kerouac beat poetry book, and make some of your own at home, then share with me please.
Went to a Thai place in Hollywood Thaitown today w/ GW, ALiu, and EC. They got this band singing anything from Michelle Branch, Sade, Missy Elliot, Shaggy (yeah, a thai band doing reggae, beat that!), norah jones, etc. I was really thinking that they were gonna pull out a Jon Secada song, no joke. Cuz you know it's a surreal and fun dinner when you got these guys up there singing norah jones and then the next song is like Nelly. You don't see that everyday folks. Good thing they didn't sing that Jewel intuuuuuiiiiitttion song. Yikes. Oh yeah, the food, papaya somtam, banana leaf chicken, and others were good...and spicy.... And no more singha's for me....
And what's up w/ this Friendster thang? It's like a blackhole, once you're in it, you can't get out. Hmm....kinda like that....yeah, yeah, that Godfather saying. "Just when you think you've gotten out, they pull you back in."
And why am I so excited about the WWDC conference on monday? Apple's just gonna release the G5 and new desktops. But it's like a company introducing new products? Why am I excited over that? Ok, no more reading on that till....monday.
I honestly do not know LA anymore. GW who has been there for 6 months knows more places than me when I was there for school. Maybe it's time for me to move back down. Or head for NYC. I gotta say, pasadena is getting better and better. Wouldn't mind living there. Went around old town and got to 1) check out some cool furniture at design within reach(mies van der rohe's sofas, Eames chairs, this cool bar stool, all of which are designs out of my wallet's reach) 2) had a pile of delicious taiwanese food nearby...all for 4 bucks! 3) Bookstores like Distant Lands off Colorado, a traveler's heaven. (Wound up buying a DK guide of Spain. I must get to Barcelona somehow!) Other stores were cool too. Then headed up to ArtCenter to check out some student work. Good stuff guys.
Finally, someone else brought up a good point that I'd like to share. There's a difference between reckless confidence/arrogance and humbled confidence with a well thought out plan. What does this mean? I dunno, you decide.
At the end of the day, Love God, Love People. That's all. Whoa nelly, I'm rambling. Time to hit the sack and get a good chinese breakfast and watch the hulk morrow...nite.
