Thoughts from the weekend.

1) What an interestingly weird and disconnected conversation and dinner we had on Friday! We went from talking about mayo-garlic cheesebread to earwax to sneezing out of your ear to funny english conversion of Chinese names, with constant interruptions from people going, "What? Huh? WHAT???" cuz we couldn't understand each other. And don't you love it when you make a certain comment about something and another person finally gets it or comments about it like 5 minutes or 2 topics later? Haha...kinda slow huh.

2) The Last Samurai was good. I take back 80% of my criticism about it and my disdain that the last samurai can possibly be non-japanese. Maybe somewhere down the line I can watch a bollywood movie with an Indian being the last American Cowboy and gets the blonde girl at the end. Stranger things have happened. To be fair, the movie does leave the possibility that Tom Cruise's character wasn't the last Samurai....

3) DC finally moved out. All I can say is that it's a wake up call and I have to really get it in my head to not reduce our house to a frat house or something. So our house is going to be in for some changes.

4) In the 2000 Company year end party, it was the dot boom days and we had all you can eat raw oysters and everyone at the party seems to know each other. 2004, the year end party has gotten so huge that it's hard to spot people you know, and they're serving dumplings in the post dot bust era. ;) Well it was a good time though, and it only makes me think how blessed I am be able where I'm at, having a good job and good friends and family. Thankful to God for that.

5) I'm retiring from going to Todai. I'm retiring from going clubbing. If you put the two reasons together, it would say this, "I'm getting old and fat." But man, my stomach is too small for Todai. Gone are the college days when going to Todai was a sporting event among the guys. You just have to eat as much sushi as you can so you can smile and say that yes...I ate more than what they charged me. Now, man, it ain't worth it to submit your body to that type of food binge. And for clubbing...yeah, nothing much to say there. I'm feeling like a senior citizen. Sigh.

6) Sunday message at Citychurch was inspiring. Can't totally put it down in words, but yeah, it was about the "Grace in Giving." We have lots to be thankful for, to be in a position to live in America, San Francisco no less, and be blessed with so many things, to have so much money which can be used for good. To have opportunities in local, national, and global level to make a difference in other people's lives, especially the poor and the oppressed. There's some action items I can do right away, so I gotta do them.

7) Spend your resources on what lasts, on people, cuz that changes lives.
